Pittsburgh Photography for WPSBC
Here’s a photograph I did yesterday for Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children‘s Christmas program. The school is located in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh PA. and if you’ll looking for a good place to volunteer some time, you’d be hard pressed to find a better cause. My heart breaks for some of the children here, but at the same time, I find it an inspiration to see how the selfless workers and volunteers at the school, strive to make each child’s life as rich as possible. It’s simply amazing…
This type of photography is a little out-of-the-norm for me, but I find it to be useful in developing many photographic skills that I’ve left get a little rusty over the years. I’m a little bit of a photography control-freak, and this type of “grab-it” photography requires some skills that I don’t use very much in my day-to-day commercial photography business. While I shoot on location all the time, I tend to do photos where I control the light, the posing, and everything else. In a shot like this, you need to be able to anticipate, and be able to work really fast. I must admit that the latest in camera technology really helps. Shooting at ISO 2500 sure makes things a lot easier than the bad old days of film.
