Pittsburgh Food and Restaurant Photography
Sometimes photography for restaurants is not just about shooting food. Sometimes, a photographer is asked to shoot interiors or even chef portraits.
I was asked to do some more food photography for Atria’s Restaurants in Pittsburgh. This shot was for a series of ads promoting “Oktoberfest” at the restaurants. Josef Karst, a German born chef, is the person highlighted in the photo along with the Pleasant Hills restaurant.
Here’s an example of the shots we did for the restaurant. This may not be the one that will be selected for the advertisement, but it’s a good example of the types of shots we shot.
To get this photo, I used my Nikon D800 and an 85mm 1.4 lens, shot wide open. There may seem to be a little too much room over the head of the subject, but this space was needed for a possible headline.
