Studio “type” portraits can be taken in Michael’s Pittsburgh Strip District portrait studio or he can take is studio on the road, either locally or around the country. This comes in handy when a company’s portraits all need to have the same background and feel. Michael has traveled all around the USA on various projects such as annual report executive portraits. Most large corporations have an annual meeting where most of the company’s executives will be attending. This is a prime opportunity to set up a portrait studio in a room adjacent to the meeting and photograph the executive between presentations. This is an economical use of the executive’s time and proves and is a way of getting the needed portraits without a major inconvenience to the makers and shakers of the corporate world.
While portraits on studio backgrounds will always have their place, more and more companies are opting for environmental portraits of their employees. Most of the Pittsburgh portrait photography you see on this gallery page will be of people in their work environments. This appears to be the trend and it doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon. And taking these portraits is not as easy as it appears. Much attention needs to be paid to the lighting and to the background, which requires highly specialized photographic equipment. No, the secretary will not be able to produce the same quality business portrait as will Michael Ray, not in a million years…
Besides Pittsburgh portrait photography, Michael also does other types of professional photography, including Commercial Photography, and Food Photography.
