Headshot of Pittsburgh Photographer, Timothy Cox
I was shooting the other day at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh’s Highland Park area and Tim was nice enough to help out. One of reasons it’s nice to have an assistant, besides helping to lug all the heavy equipment, is because I need a stand in model for lighting purposes. This is a shot I did of Tim, using a black background. In the actual shoot, I ended up going with white. Since I was photographing portraits of children, I thought that a black background wasn’t as appropriate as a white one, but I wanted to see what it looked like with this type of portrait lighting. I am very pleased with the lighting / background combination, and will definitely use it in the future.
